Lucknow (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking case has emerged from Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow, where police recovered 20 kilograms of beef from a luxury SUV in the city’s most posh locality, Hazratganj. The incident took place on Wednesday inside the multi-level parking complex, triggering swift police action.

According to Hazratganj police, they received a tip-off about suspicious activity inside a black Mahindra Thar without a number plate parked on the first floor of the facility. Acting immediately, police officer Shivani Singh and her team raided the spot. On searching the vehicle, they found several carry bags in the trunk containing around 20 kg of beef.

The operation was supervised by ACP Vikas Jaiswal and Inspector Vikram Singh, who confirmed that the vehicle owner, identified as Mohammad Wasif, a resident of Aminabad’s Guin Road, was arrested on the spot.

Police are now interrogating the accused to find out where the beef was sourced from and where it was being transported. The recovery has raised concerns of possible illegal beef smuggling or cow slaughter networks operating in the state capital. The accused, along with the seized meat, has been taken into custody for further legal action.
