New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu)- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar has given his clarification on the rumors of buying Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL franchise. Expressing his displeasure, DK said, 'Why do I need RCB? I don't even drink Royal Challenger.'

Congress leader DK Shivakumar said, 'I have been a member of the Karnataka Cricket Association (KCA) since my youth years ago. So I have got offers to join the management of the franchise, but brother, I don't have the time to join it. I am not crazy. I am a member of the Karnataka Cricket Association since my younger days, that's all. I don't have time, although I got offers to be part of the management... What do I need RCB for?'

Let us tell you that RCB won the trophy after 18 years. Is Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar buying the RCB franchise? These rumors surfaced soon after reports that Diageo PLC, the British distiller and current owner of RCB through its Indian unit United Spirits Limited, is considering selling some or all of the franchise. According to industry sources, Diageo is in talks with potential advisors for the sale. The valuation of the franchise is estimated to be over $2 billion.
