Major Breakthrough in Chandan Mishra Murder Case: Shooters Balwant and Ravi Ranjan Killed in Encounter

Arrah (The Uttam Hindu): Police has achieved a big success in the famous gangster Chandan Mishra murder case of Patna. A joint team of Bihar STF and Bhojpur police arrested three accused related to the murder after an encounter in Bihiya police station area of Arrah on Tuesday morning. Two criminals were shot in the leg in retaliatory firing by the police, who have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The arrested accused also include two shooters seen in the CCTV footage of Patna hospital.
According to Bhojpur police, STF and district police had received secret information that some accused of Chandan Mishra murder case were hiding near Katia Road in Bihiya police station area. When the joint police team surrounded them and asked them to surrender at around 5 am on Tuesday, the criminals started firing at the police team. Police also retaliated in self-defense.
In this encounter, two criminals, Balwant Kumar Singh and Ravi Ranjan Kumar Singh, were shot in the hands and legs, after which the police caught them. Both have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Apart from them, another fellow criminal Abhishek Kumar has also been arrested. Police have confirmed that the injured Balwant and the arrested Abhishek are the same shooters who were seen firing at Chandan Mishra in the CCTV footage of Paras Hospital in Patna.
A country-made pistol, two pistols, two magazines and four live cartridges have been recovered from the arrested criminals. In the preliminary interrogation conducted by the police, all three have confessed to being involved in the murder of Chandan Mishra in Paras Hospital, Patna. The police is now questioning them intensively about other absconding accused involved in the murder and the conspiracy.
