Srinagar (The Uttam Hindu): A major terrorist conspiracy has been foiled in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. The army and Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a joint search operation in the forests of Surankote and uncovered a terrorist hideout. During the operation, security forces recovered five IEDs, with explosive material concealed in three tiffin boxes and two steel buckets. Additionally, a 5-liter gas cylinder, two wireless sets, a binocular, two woolen caps, and three black trousers were also recovered.

Major conspiracy of terrorists foiled in Jammu and Kashmir, 5 IEDs recovered during search operation in Poonch district: Following this operation, intelligence agencies have input that terrorist attacks could be planned on Srinagar Central Jail and Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu. These jails house several high-profile terrorists and overground workers. Based on these inputs, security at these prison complexes has been tightened. The Director General of CISF met with security grid officials in Srinagar on Sunday to review the situation and instructed enhanced security measures. Security forces believe that terrorists were preparing for a major attack, which was successfully thwarted in time.
