Major Tragedy in the Indian Ocean: Boat Carrying Indian Nationals Capsizes, Three Dead and Five Missing

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic boat accident occurred in the Indian Ocean near Beira Port in Mozambique on Friday, resulting in the death of three Indian nationals, while five others remain missing. Rescue operations are currently underway to locate the missing individuals.
According to the Indian Embassy in Mozambique, the boat was carrying crew members of a tanker, who were being transferred as part of a routine operation when the vessel suddenly capsized, leading to the accident.
The embassy confirmed that 14 Indian citizens were on board at the time of the incident. While the exact cause of the mishap is still unknown, authorities are investigating the matter. “Unfortunately, we lost some of our nationals in this tragic accident, and several others are missing. We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and assure full support to them,” the Indian Embassy said in an official statement.
So far, five Indians have been rescued safely, while one person is critically injured and receiving treatment at a local hospital. Efforts are being made by the local administration and Indian Embassy officials to trace the missing individuals. The rescue and relief operation is ongoing, with authorities closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with local agencies to expedite the search.
