New Delhi/Kota (The Uttam Hindu): The Rajasthan Police have detained a man from Kota for allegedly uploading a video threatening to shoot Rahul Gandhi and 25 Congress Members of Parliament. According to police, the accused identified himself as Raj Singh in the video and claimed to be a spokesperson of the Karni Sena. He referred to a recent incident in Parliament while issuing the threats.

As per a PTI report, the accused claimed that some people were angered by an alleged altercation between 25 Congress MPs and Om Birla during the first phase of the Lok Sabha Budget Session. In the viral video, he allegedly warned that if such an incident happened again, houses of MPs would be vandalised. He also made objectionable and violent remarks against Rahul Gandhi, stating that he would be shot.

After the video surfaced on social media, police took swift action and detained the accused at Borakheda police station in Kota. Kota Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam told PTI that the accused is being questioned regarding the video.

It has been reported that the video shows photographs of Narendra Modi and Om Birla displayed on the wall behind the accused. However, both the Bharatiya Janata Party and Karni Sena have denied any connection with him. BJP Kota city president Rakesh Jain stated that the person seen in the video has no association with the party.
