‘Modi became PM with foreign support’: Rahul Gandhi challenges him to an open debate
Rahul Gandhi has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government of relying on foreign support and challenged him to an open debate, intensifying the political confrontation.

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that his government is functioning with foreign support. Rahul claimed that the Prime Minister's financial ecosystem operates under the control and support of foreign powers. He also challenged Modi to an open debate through a post on social media platform X. The remarks are likely to intensify the political confrontation.
‘Modi should stop lying to the country’
In his post, Rahul Gandhi directly addressed the Prime Minister and wrote that his entire financial ecosystem was operating under the control and support of foreigners. He also alleged that the Prime Minister was receiving support on foreign social media platforms. The Congress leader said that the Prime Minister should stop lying to the country.
Rahul Gandhi challenged the Prime Minister to an open debate on any platform and at any time. He said he was ready to debate the issue and claimed that Modi would avoid the discussion because of what he knew about Rahul.
Modi had described the Opposition as ‘Avarodh Paksh’
Rahul Gandhi's attack came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address on the occasion of Unity Day. In his speech, the Prime Minister accused the Opposition of obstructing the country's development. He described it as ‘Avarodh Paksh’ (obstructionist bloc) instead of ‘Virodh Paksh’ (Opposition).
The Prime Minister had said that while the country was dealing with external challenges, certain forces were attempting to create instability by spreading lies and rumours. He alleged that some people were using social media to damage India's image and create divisions in society.
Modi said there was a need to remain alert against forces obstructing the country's development. He also appealed to people to remain united and preserve the country's strength and unity.
