Dehradun (The Uttam Hindu): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat has expressed his frank opinion on burning issues like partition of the country, reservation, Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and live-in relationships. Addressing a major public meeting organized on the topic 'Sangh Yatra - New Horizons, New Dimensions' at the Himalayan Cultural Center in Dehradun, he clarified that the days of division and separation in India are now completely over. He said that the tragedy of partition of 1947 will not be allowed to repeat again under any circumstances, because today both the society and the nation have completely awakened and the whole world is looking at India in a leadership role.

As long as there is discrimination in the mind, reservation should continue.

Speaking on the issue of equality and reservation in society, the RSS chief clarified that reservation was implemented in the country to bring equality. He firmly believes that as long as social inequality or discrimination persists in people's minds and behavior, the invisible practice of untouchability will continue. Therefore, the reservation system must continue until this discrimination is completely eradicated from society's consciousness. He emphasized that a permanent solution to this age-old problem will come not from rules and regulations alone, but from true social harmony. He urged society to live unitedly instead of being divided along racial lines.

Support for population law and 50% quota for women

Advocating population control and equal rights, Dr. Bhagwat emphasized the need for a population law and supported the three-child norm. He praised the Uttarakhand government's initiative to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), calling it a significant step toward unifying society and supporting its nationwide implementation. Furthermore, in a major statement on women's empowerment, he said that women constitute half the population and power of society, and therefore, they should receive a full 50 percent reservation, not just 33 percent.

Called the 'live-in' culture unacceptable, gave advice to the new generation

Expressing concern over the growing influence of Western culture, the Sarsanghchalak declared live-in relationships completely unacceptable to Indian society. He strongly remarked that consummation without marriage occurs only among animals, and therefore, today's youth must shoulder the social responsibility of the institution of marriage. Furthermore, speaking about the new generation (Gen-Z) and the growing technology, he emphasized the need to treat this new generation with authenticity. He clarified that technology cannot be accepted at the expense of human values and humanity. To this end, he specifically urged all families to moderate their screen time at home.
