Sonia, Rahul Gandhi Accused of Rs 2,000 Crore Property Grab in National Herald Case: ED

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A special court in Delhi heard the National Herald case today (Wednesday). During this, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) exposed the layers of Congress's fraud allegations. ED said that a new company named Young India was created just so that the property worth crores of Associated Journals Limited (AJL) could be grabbed for just a few rupees.
Additional Solicitor General V Raju, appearing on behalf of the Enforcement Directorate, claimed that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi had conspired to grab property worth Rs 2000 crore. He said that the Congress Party wanted to grab the property of Associated Journals Limited, which was worth around Rs 2,000 crore. After this, the ASG said that this conspiracy was hatched by Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi and her son and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi are the main accused in this case. This high-profile case is being heard by CBI Special Judge Vishal Gogne. Let us tell you that AJL used to publish the National Herald newspaper, which was founded by former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
Raju said during the hearing that a conspiracy was hatched to create Young Indian, in which Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi had 76% shares, so that assets worth Rs 2,000 crore could be grabbed to pay for a loan of Rs 90 crore taken from the Congress. The ED said that advertising money was also given to AJL on the instructions of senior Congress leaders and whatever income was generated from this fake company was the proceeds of crime. During the last hearing on May 21, the ED had said that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have earned proceeds of crime worth Rs 142 crore related to the alleged National Herald money laundering case. In the prosecution complaint filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the ED has named former Congress President and Rajya Sabha member 78-year-old Sonia Gandhi as accused number one and her son and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi as accused number two. Apart from this, five others have also been made accused in this case. The National Herald-AJL-Young Indian case is related to an alleged conspiracy hatched by the 'beneficial owners' and majority shareholders (Sonia and Rahul) of Young Indian to illegally acquire assets worth Rs 2,000 crore of Associated Journals Limited (AJL). AJL is the publisher of the 'National Herald' news platform (news and web portal) and is owned by Young Indian Private Limited.
