New Bihar government taking shape; BJP likely to get 15–16 ministerial berths

Patna (The Uttam Hindu): Following the NDA's victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, the process of forming a new government has accelerated. According to sources, a consensus has been reached among the NDA parties regarding cabinet formation.


According to reports, a formula has been established to appoint one minister for every six MLAs in the new government. Based on this, the JDU is expected to receive approximately 14 ministerial positions. There is talk of including 15-16 ministers from the BJP. Meanwhile, the LJP (Ram Vilas) could receive three ministers, while the parties of Jitan Ram Manjhi and Upendra Kushwaha could receive one ministerial position each.


Meanwhile, activity has increased at the Chief Minister's residence. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai arrived to meet Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Minister Vijendra Yadav also visited the Chief Minister. It is reported that Nityanand Rai congratulated Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on his election victory.
