According to the post circulated online, individuals identifying themselves as Rahul Fatehpur and Naveen Boxer Goripur claimed responsibility for the attack on advocate Deepak Khatri. The post alleged that the attack was carried out over accusations of informing and involvement in extortion-related matters. However, these claims have not been independently verified so far.

In the social media message, the individuals warned the lawyer to stop alleged activities related to information sharing and extortion arrangements. The post also contained threats, stating that further consequences would follow if such actions continued.
