NIA Files Fresh Case Against Khalistani Terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): India has begun tightening its grip on the Khalistani organization Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu. In this regard, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a new case against Gurpatwant Singh Pannu.
The NIA took this action in response to Gurpatwant Singh Pannu's remarks, in which the Khalistani terrorist announced a reward of ₹11 crore for anyone who prevents the Prime Minister from hoisting the tricolor at the Red Fort. Pannu made this statement via video link from Washington during a "Meet the Press" event held at the Lahore Press Club in Pakistan on August 10th.
Meanwhile, terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu released a disputed map that included Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Delhi. The Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) also formed a group called "Shaheed Jatha" against India.
The NIA has registered a case under Section 61(2) of the CrPC, 2023, and Sections 10 and 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The agency will now investigate other individuals involved in the conspiracy and the extent of the network.
Earlier, Khalistani extremist Inderjit Singh Gosal, considered a close associate and right-hand man of terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, was arrested in Canada. Gosal's arrest is a clear indication that agencies have begun cracking down on the pro-Khalistan organization "Sikhs for Justice."
Gosal came to prominence as a key Canadian organizer of the US-based Khalistani organization Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) following the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June 2023. He had organized several pro-Khalistan referendums, aimed at garnering support for the demand for an independent Khalistan state separate from Punjab.
Indian agencies reportedly regularly share intelligence with Canadian agencies. While information has been shared previously on organizations like Babar Khalsa International, this time the focus is primarily on Sikhs for Justice.
