Major action by NIA: Searches underway in Jammu & Kashmir and 5 other states

Srinagar (The Uttam Hindu): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday carried out raids in Jammu and Kashmir and five states in connection with a terrorist conspiracy case. According to officials, searches were carried out at at least 22 locations. This action was taken in connection with the investigation of a case related to internal security.

NIA takes major action in terror conspiracy case, raids in 5 states and Jammu and Kashmir: In Jammu and Kashmir, NIA teams remained active in Baramulla, Kulgam, Anantnag and Pulwama districts. A raid was also conducted at Rashid Lone's house in Jangam village of Baramulla on Monday morning. Mobile phones and suspicious documents have been seized from several places during the raids. However, the NIA has not yet issued an official statement on this.

It is worth noting that earlier in June, the NIA had raided 32 locations in Jammu and Kashmir. According to reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit Jammu and Kashmir soon, in such a situation, this action of the agency has become more important.

Meanwhile, the NIA has achieved a major success in Bihar. During a raid in Gopalpur on Friday, Khalistani terrorist Sharanjit Kumar alias Shani was arrested. Sharanjit is a resident of Batala in Gurdaspur district of Punjab and is an accused in the Golden Temple grenade attack case.
