The state’s Energy Department has already received approval from the Finance Department, and the proposal will soon be finalized in a cabinet meeting. Once implemented, this initiative is expected to benefit millions of consumers, significantly reducing their monthly electricity expenses.
The move is being viewed as a strategic pre-poll measure aimed at winning the trust of middle-class and lower-income families. Political analysts believe this decision could influence a large voter base ahead of the crucial 2025 elections. Meanwhile, the Central Government’s ‘PM Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana’ is already operational, offering relief through rooftop solar panels.
