New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Ahead of the Winter Session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the media on Monday and made it clear that there is no place for disruption inside the House. He stated that while there are many places outside the Parliament complex for political drama, the House should focus only on delivery and meaningful work.

The Prime Minister urged all political parties, especially the opposition, to ensure that the session runs smoothly and maintains dignity. He said Parliament represents the hopes and expectations of the nation, and therefore, it must focus on serious policy discussions rather than slogan-shouting. “We need policies, not slogans — and that requires intent,” he added.

PM Modi also said that parties must move beyond the disappointment of electoral defeat and participate constructively. He noted that some parties are still unable to accept the Bihar Assembly election results, but Parliament should not become a place for frustration. “The session should not turn into an arena of despair for some or arrogance of victory for others. Negativity does not build a nation,” he said.

The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of giving more opportunities to young MPs. He said the fresh ideas and different perspectives of new members can benefit Parliament and contribute to national progress. Reiterating his stand, PM Modi said the House is not a place for drama but a place to work with responsibility.

Sending a message to all parties, he said the Winter Session must not become an outlet for disappointment or a display of triumphalism.

Earlier, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed hope that MPs would strengthen democratic traditions and make the Winter Session productive.
