No Route Through Terror: PM Modi’s Plane Avoids Pakistan After J&K Attack

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Following the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a strong diplomatic signal to Pakistan. While his special aircraft flew over Pakistani airspace en route to Saudi Arabia, it deliberately avoided Pakistan’s skies on the return journey to India. On Wednesday, as PM Modi rushed back to India from Jeddah, his aircraft took an alternate route, bypassing Pakistan completely. In contrast, his flight from Delhi to Jeddah on Tuesday morning had flown through Pakistani airspace.
This move is being seen as a calculated and symbolic message on the international stage. PM Modi’s decision highlights India’s firm stance that Pakistan cannot expect normalized relations while harboring and supporting terrorism against India. The route from India to Saudi Arabia via Pakistan is generally considered the fastest and most direct. The alternative involves a longer path over the Arabian Sea via Mumbai. Reports suggest that PM Modi’s aircraft took this longer route to avoid Pakistan's airspace.
This incident came right after a horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, where 5–6 heavily armed militants opened fire indiscriminately on a group of tourists. The attackers used AK-47 rifles, killing at least 28 people and injuring dozens more. Notably, after the 2019 Pulwama attack, India had also suspended the use of Pakistani airspace and nearly severed all diplomatic ties. This latest move by PM Modi signals rising tensions once again and underscores India's uncompromising stance on cross-border terrorism. Changing the flight path is not just a security measure—it serves as a clear message to Pakistan: peace and dialogue cannot coexist with terror.
