New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): During the ANI National Security Summit 2.0 held in the capital, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh clarified on Thursday that India had voluntarily halted Operation Sindoor on its own terms. He said that if necessary, India was fully prepared to fight a long war against Pakistan.

Describing Pakistan as a hub of international terrorism, the Defense Minister said that eradicating the roots of terrorism is the need of the hour. Praising the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that under the government's "zero tolerance" policy, terrorism will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Big statement on Operation Sindoor

Rajnath Singh said that 'Operation Sindoor' was launched in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and it proved to be a turning point in India's strategic policy. He said that this action sent a clear message to the world that India will no longer be limited to mere statements, but is also capable of taking concrete action. He stressed that during the operation, the Indian Army targeted only those hideouts from where terrorist activities were being operated. He also clarified that stopping the operation was not a sign of any weakness, but this decision was completely based on India's strategy and conditions.

The Defense Minister stated that the Indian Army 's capabilities are stronger than ever before and are capable of rapidly increasing their strength if needed. He stated that India has received threats of nuclear attack, but the country has adopted a balanced and strong stance without succumbing to any pressure. He also stated that India's military system is capable of rapidly mobilizing resources and operating in both peace and war situations.

Three Facets of Terrorism

Rajnath Singh, not considering terrorism merely a security issue, described its three dimensions—operational, ideological, and political. He said that unless action is taken simultaneously at all three levels, complete elimination of terrorism is not possible. Targeting Pakistan, he said that while India has made its mark in the IT sector, Pakistan is known for 'international terrorism'. He stressed that to eliminate terrorism, it is extremely important to eliminate its ideological and political roots.
