New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A new report by the United Nations Security Council has linked Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed to several attacks, including a car bomb blast near the Red Fort in Delhi. The disclosure has brought renewed international attention to cross-border terrorism.

According to the 37th report prepared by the Security Council’s 1267 Sanctions Committee, links between the Red Fort attack and Jaish-e-Mohammed, which operates from Pakistan, have been identified. The UN’s Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team stated that indicators of Jaish’s involvement were found in the incident near the historic monument.

The report further said that one member state claimed Jaish-e-Mohammed had taken responsibility for these attacks. Following this revelation, questions have once again been raised over Pakistan’s role in curbing terror groups operating from its territory.

The report also mentioned that Masood Azhar announced the formation of a separate women’s wing on October 8, named Jamaat-ul-Muminat. Although this wing is not yet listed under UN sanctions, it has been accused of supporting terrorist activities.

Differences of opinion among member states were also highlighted in the report. While one country maintained that Jaish-e-Mohammed remains active, another described the group as “inactive.” Pakistan has earlier claimed that both Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba became inactive after being banned.

The report also referred to the Pahalgam terror attack of April 2025, in which 26 civilians were killed. The attack was carried out by The Resistance Front (TRF), considered a proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Three suspects linked to the case were killed on July 28, 2025. Subsequently, India carried out operations against terror hideouts located in Pakistan in May.

It is noteworthy that the attack near the Red Fort in New Delhi on November 10, 2025, had reportedly claimed 15 lives. After the UN report, the case has once again sparked discussion at the international level.
