Lucknow (The Uttam Hindu) : The Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party finally has a new state president. The unanimous election of Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary was announced by National Council Election Incharge and Union Minister Piyush Goyal in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The formal announcement was made during a ceremony held at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow.

The appointment of Pankaj Chaudhary as the state BJP president is being seen as the beginning of a new era within the organization. The election of members of the party's National Council was also held at the same event. Piyush Goyal stated that Pankaj Chaudhary has been unanimously entrusted with this important responsibility, which is a matter of pride for the party.

Pankaj Chaudhary's appointment is being seen as a deliberate political strategy by the BJP. He has served as a seven-time MP from the Maharajganj Lok Sabha constituency in Purvanchal and belongs to the Kurmi community, an influential OBC community. Given the large OBC voter base in Uttar Pradesh, particularly in Purvanchal, the party is attempting to maintain social balance and organizational strength through this decision.

According to BJP sources, this appointment is a strategy to counter the opposition's PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority) alliance and further strengthen the party's hold on the OBC vote bank. Pankaj Choudhary, considered close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has organizational experience and a tenure as a Union Minister. With his strong support base in Purvanchal, the BJP is expected to gain further political strength in the region.

The program began with an address by outgoing state president Bhupendra Chaudhary. Chaudhary first welcomed Piyush Goyal, the election in-charge for National Council members, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, National Election In-charge K Laxman, State Election In-charge Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, newly elected state president Pankaj Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, and others. In his address, Chaudhary said that in organizational politics, there comes a time when we see our roles change. How much to learn, how much to tell, and what to do are all decided by the organization. A campaign has been going on for the past four years, and it should continue in the future. We have gathered with this hope.
