New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The proceedings of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha could not run smoothly on Tuesday as well. The opposition in Rajya Sabha demanded that other proceedings of the House be postponed and matters related to voter list be discussed. For this, many opposition MPs had also given notices under Rule 267. However, citing the rules, the Deputy Chairman rejected all these notices.

After this, the opposition MPs in Rajya Sabha got up from their seats and came forward shouting slogans. Seeing the uproar increasing in Rajya Sabha, the Deputy Chairman adjourned the proceedings of the House till 2 pm. In Lok Sabha too, the proceedings of the House were disrupted due to uproar and sloganeering.

The Lok Sabha proceedings were first adjourned till 12 noon. Even after the proceedings began at 12 noon, the uproar continued and the proceedings of the House were adjourned till 2 pm.

In fact, on Tuesday and shortly after the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha began, Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan told the House that he received 20 notices for discussion from the opposition MPs. These 20 notices were sent for discussion on 4 different topics. All these notices for discussion were given to the Deputy Chairman under Rule 267.

While informing the House on this issue, the Deputy Chairman said that none of the 20 notices received by him were sent as per the rules. Therefore, all the notices were rejected. After this, the opposition started shouting slogans in the House. Most of the opposition MPs got up from their seats and came forward and started shouting slogans while standing in the Rajya Sabha.

The Deputy Chairman requested to allow Zero Hour and Question Hour to continue in Rajya Sabha. But the opposition MPs did not agree to this, they kept demanding discussion on the basis of the notice given. Seeing the uproar increasing in the House, the Deputy Chairman adjourned the proceedings of Rajya Sabha till 2 pm. On the other hand, Question Hour was started in Lok Sabha but the proceedings of Question Hour could not continue for long. The opposition kept raising slogans continuously.

Due to uproar and sloganeering in the House, Lok Sabha proceedings had to be adjourned in the middle of the Question Hour. The same situation prevailed in the House even when the proceedings resumed at 12 noon. Lok Sabha Speaker Krishna Prasad Tanneti said that some MPs have given adjournment motions. He said that the Lok Sabha Speaker has rejected these adjournment motions. Meanwhile, sloganeering continued in the Lok Sabha due to which the Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 2 pm.
