New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Opposition party leaders raised many serious issues in the all-party meeting held on Sunday before the monsoon session of Parliament. Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi demanded a discussion on the challenges on two fronts on the India-Pakistan and China border and foreign policy. He said that PM Modi should come to Parliament and clarify the situation.

Gogoi further said, a lot of time has passed and the government will have to put its point on its mistake. We gave full support to our forces for the war. Prime Minister Modi should shed light on the developments that have happened after this because the statements coming from US President Donald Trump somewhere raise questions on the dignity of India and the bravery of the army. Today the Election Commission is also hesitant to talk to various political parties. It is very important to talk on defense and foreign policy. Prime Minister Modi had said that peace will be restored in Manipur in a few months, but almost 2.5 years have passed and peace has not been established there yet. Gogoi expressed concern over the removal of names from the voter list in Bihar and questioned the impartiality of the Election Commission. Gogoi said that the Constitution makers had envisioned an independent and impartial Election Commission, but the current situation is worrying.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav called the intelligence failure in the Pahalgam terror attack a serious issue. He questioned the US President's claims that he had a role in the ceasefire between India and Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. He termed India's foreign policy a failure and said that today no country is standing with India, which never happened before. He called the removal of names of lakhs of people from the voter list in Bihar a threat to democracy and said that it is a violation of Article 326 of the Constitution.

BJD MP Sasmit Patra said, “The situation in Odisha is very serious. Women and girls are being constantly attacked. The truth is that today the Odisha government is completely incompetent, failed and has no control over the law and order situation in the state, so we will raise all these issues in Parliament, apart from other issues of the state. Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh said that the government should give clarification on the claim of the US President. He demanded immediate stop to the action of bulldozing despite the promise of giving houses to slum dwellers in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. He also questioned the blaming of Indian pilots in the plane crash and said that the closure of government schools in Uttar Pradesh was against Dalits, backward and minorities.
