Kolkata (The Uttam Hindu)- There was a huge uproar in the West Bengal Assembly when BJP and TMC MLAs clashed with each other. According to the information, the uproar started during the discussion on a bill related to minorities. Due to which the Assembly Speaker had to call the marshals. During this, BJP's Chief Whip Shankar Ghosh was suspended from the Assembly. Apart from him, 4 more BJP MLAs were also suspended.


During the uproar, there was also a scuffle between TMC and BJP MLAs. Meanwhile, tension arose when West Bengal Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee called marshals to take out BJP MLA and party chief whip Dr. Shankar Ghosh after suspending him. BJP MLAs came in front of the chair. They raised slogans of "Jai Shri Ram" and disrupted the proceedings. While the Trinamool Congress-led government was trying to pass a resolution condemning the attacks on Bengali migrant workers in BJP-ruled states. Along with Shankar Ghosh, the saffron party's Agnimitra Paul was also suspended from the West Bengal Assembly. Speaker Biman Banerjee called women marshals to take them out. Apart from this, three other BJP MLAs Ashok Dinda, Bamkin Ghosh and Mihir Goswami have also been suspended from the House. BJP leaders alleged that water bottles were thrown at them from the ruling party benches during the uproar.





CM Mamata accused the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of being “anti-Bengal” and preventing a discussion on the oppression of Bengalis. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was about to speak on the motion when the BJP MLAs started sloganeering after which Ghosh was suspended. The BJP MLAs wanted to know why Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari was suspended on September 2. When Ghosh refused to leave, he was escorted out of the House with the help of marshals. The Chief Minister condemned the unparliamentary conduct of the BJP MLAs. Mamata Banerjee said that they were trying to disrupt a serious discussion related to the rights and security of Bengali migrants. Amid the uproar, both the ruling and the opposition started sloganeering, due to which the proceedings of the House had to be adjourned several times.
