Patna HC Orders Congress to Take Down AI-Generated Video of PM Modi's Mother

Patna (The Uttam Hindu): Just before the Bihar Assembly elections, the Patna High Court has dealt a major blow to the Congress party. In a significant ruling on Wednesday, the High Court ordered the immediate removal from all social media platforms of an artificial intelligence (AI) video released by the Congress party depicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother, Hiraben.
It's worth noting that the Congress party recently released an AI-generated video depicting PM Modi's mother speaking to him in his dreams. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strongly objected to this video, calling it an insult to PM Modi's mother, after which the matter reached the court.
After the video surfaced, the BJP launched a scathing attack on the Congress party. BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala said, "The Congress party is once again insulting PM Modi's mother. This is no longer Gandhi's Congress, but the 'Congress of abuses.'" Former Union Minister Shahnawaz Hussain said that the Congress party should be ashamed of the video and apologize for insulting a mother who is no longer alive.
This incident also sparked concern in the social sphere. Padma Shri awardee Mathurbhai Savani wrote to Prime Minister Modi, objecting to such videos and calling them a misuse of technology. He demanded regulations governing the use of technology, stating that the dialogue used in the video was against Indian culture and had hurt public sentiment.
It's worth noting that last month, during a visit by the "India" coalition to Darbhanga, Bihar, PM Modi's mother was allegedly subjected to abusive language. Prime Minister Modi himself expressed his sadness over this, saying, "My mother had nothing to do with politics, yet she was subjected to vile abuse from the Congress-RJD platform, which is extremely painful."
