PM Modi says meeting with economists and experts was a meaningful dialogue

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that his interaction with economists and experts was meaningful and productive. The meeting, held on Tuesday, focused on the theme “Self-Reliance and Structural Transformation: Agenda for a Developed India.”
Sharing his views on Wednesday morning on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi wrote, “Had a very meaningful discussion with economists and experts on Tuesday. They shared valuable perspectives on ‘Self-Reliance and Structural Transformation: Agenda for a Developed India.’”
On Tuesday morning, the Prime Minister interacted with a group of leading economists and experts at the NITI Aayog. During the discussion, he outlined the core pillars of India’s journey towards the year 2047.
Describing Viksit Bharat as a national aspiration, PM Modi said that the vision of a developed India by 2047 has moved beyond government policy and has become a shared public goal. He noted that this shift is visible in changing patterns of education, consumption, and global mobility. He emphasized the need to strengthen institutional capacity and proactive infrastructure planning to meet the demands of an increasingly aspirational society.
The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of mission-based reforms to achieve global capacity building and deeper global integration. He called for focused reforms across sectors to sustain long-term economic growth. He underlined that India’s policymaking and budgeting must remain aligned with the 2047 vision and highlighted the need to ensure that India continues to be a key hub for the global workforce and international markets.
During the interaction, economists exchanged important ideas on boosting productivity and competitiveness in the manufacturing and services sectors. Discussions mainly revolved around accelerating structural transformation through higher domestic savings, robust infrastructure development, and adoption of advanced technologies. The role of artificial intelligence in improving cross-sector productivity and the continued expansion of India’s digital public infrastructure (DPI) were also discussed.
Participants noted that the unprecedented pace of cross-sector reforms in 2025, along with their further strengthening in the coming year, would help India reinforce its foundations, unlock new opportunities, and continue its path as one of the world’s fastest-growing economies.
