PM Modi to Release 21st PM-KISAN Installment Today for 9 Crore Farmers

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 21st installment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi scheme on Wednesday during an event in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. He will also address the gathering present at the venue.
At around 1:30 PM, PM Modi will inaugurate the South India Natural Farming Summit in Coimbatore. During the event, he will transfer over ₹18,000 crore as the 21st installment of the PM-KISAN scheme, benefiting nearly 9 crore farmers across the country.
Under the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi scheme, every eligible farmer family receives annual financial support of ₹6,000. Launched on 24 February 2019, the program has so far transferred more than ₹3.70 lakh crore to over 11 crore farmer families through 20 installments.
Farmers whose land details are registered on the PM-KISAN portal, whose bank accounts are linked with Aadhaar, and whose e-KYC is completed are eligible for the scheme. PM-KISAN is among the world’s largest Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) programs, highlighting its strong impact on delivering direct financial assistance. More than 25% of its beneficiaries are women, reflecting the scheme’s commitment to inclusivity.
The initiative uses advanced technology and streamlined procedures to ensure hassle-free access to benefits. A farmer-focused digital infrastructure strengthens delivery, eliminating middlemen and enabling efficient transfers even in remote regions. Aadhaar-based verification and payment systems further enhance security and transparency in the transactions.
