PM Modi's Diwali message: A call to embrace swadeshi and unity

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Diwali was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a letter to the countrymen on Diwali.
Diwali was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country on October 20th. Markets were vibrant, and the recent GST reforms provided positive results, providing consumers with shopping relief. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swadeshi appeal also had an impact on the public, leading to a preference for indigenous products. People enthusiastically embraced local and indigenous goods, making the festival even more special.
Referring to Atmanirbhar Bharat, PM Modi wrote that in this journey towards a developed and self-reliant India, our primary responsibility as citizens is to fulfill our duty to the nation. We should adopt Swadeshi and proudly declare that it is Swadeshi. We should promote the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. We should respect every language. We should practice cleanliness. We should prioritize our health. We should reduce the amount of oil in our food by 10 percent and adopt yoga. All these efforts will move us towards a developed India at a faster pace.
Referring to the festival of Diwali, PM Modi said that this festival also teaches us that when one lamp lights another, its light does not diminish but rather increases. In this spirit, this Diwali, we too must light the lamps of harmony, cooperation, and positivity in our society and around us.
Referring to the Ayodhya Ram Temple, PM Modi wrote that this is the second Diwali after the grand construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Lord Shri Ram teaches us to uphold decorum and also teaches us to fight injustice. We saw a vivid example of this a few months ago during Operation Sindoor. In Operation Sindoor, India both upheld decorum and avenged injustice. This Diwali is also special because Diwali lamps will be lit for the first time in many districts across the country, even in remote areas. These are districts where Naxalism and Maoist terrorism have been eradicated. In recent days, we have seen how many individuals have abandoned the path of violence and joined the mainstream of development, expressing faith in the Constitution of the country. This is a huge achievement for the country.
