New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): PM Narendra Modi addressed the nation today in the 122nd episode of 'Mann Ki Baat'. At the beginning of the episode, he talked about Yoga Day. He said- On June 21, crores of people from the country and the world participated in International Yoga Day. The grandeur of yoga is increasing, people are adopting it in their daily lives.

PM said, during the period of emergency, people were tortured. Many people were given harsh tortures. Under MISA, anyone could be arrested just like that, and inhumane atrocities were committed on them. In the end, the public won and emergency was lifted. The public won and those who imposed emergency lost.

The grandeur of Yoga is increasing in the world…People were tortured during Emergency, PM Modi said in Mann Ki Baat: The PM said, we saw so many attractive pictures of Yoga Day this time. 3 lakh people performed Yoga together in Vishakhapatnam. A glimpse of Yoga Day was also seen on our naval ships. People of Delhi connected with the resolution of cleanliness. In Jammu, people performed Yoga on the world's tallest bridge. The PM said that in Vadnagar 2100 people created a record by performing Bhujangasana together. This time the theme was also quite different. The grandeur of this year's Yoga Day will inspire people to adopt Yoga.

In his address, the Prime Minister said, I want to tell you about two such achievements that will fill you with pride. The first achievement is related to health. The World Health Organization has declared India trachoma free. This success is of our health workers. Today, when tap water is reaching every home, the risk of such diseases has reduced.

PM said, the report of the International Level Organization has just come. It has come out that 95 crore people of the country are taking advantage of some or the other government scheme. These successes have given a confidence that India will become more empowered in the coming times. Friends, the country is moving ahead with public participation.

Referring to the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, the PM said, religious pilgrimages are a great ritual of service. More people join in serving the pilgrimage than the number of people who go on it. The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has started after a long time. Kailash has been considered a center of devotion in the Hindu, Buddhist and Jain traditions. When someone sets out on a pilgrimage, the first feeling that comes to mind is, “Come, the call has come”. This feeling is the soul of our religious pilgrimages. These pilgrimages are a medium of disciplining the body, purifying the mind, mutual love and brotherhood, and connecting with God.
