Poll violence in Bihar — ASI’s body found with throat slit during Assembly elections

Siwan (The Uttam Hindu): The police is claiming to be alert regarding the Bihar Assembly elections. Meanwhile, news of the murder of a police officer has come to light in Siwan. Unknown criminals have brutally murdered the ASI posted at Daraunda police station in Siwan. After receiving information about the incident, senior police officers of the district have also reached the spot and are investigating the matter. Police said that the criminals killed the Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) with a sharp weapon and threw the body in a deserted area.
Police responded to a report of a dead body in Basanv Navka Tola, Darunda police station area, on Thursday and recovered the body, which has been identified as that of ASI Anirudh Kumar. According to reports, ASI Anirudh Kumar, posted in the Darunda police station area, was in civilian clothes.
On Wednesday night, while he was traveling, criminals murdered him with a sharp-edged weapon and dumped his body in a deserted area. Darunda police station in-charge Vikas Kumar Singh said that it was clear from the body that the criminals had slit his throat with a sharp-edged weapon and then dumped the body in a deserted area. The motive for the murder is still unknown.
He said that he was traveling somewhere in civilian clothes on Wednesday evening. Information is being gathered about his whereabouts. Police have taken the body into custody and sent it to Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination, and the entire matter is being investigated. Meanwhile, after receiving information about the incident, senior police officers from the district also arrived at the scene and provided necessary instructions. Raids are being conducted to apprehend the suspected perpetrators.
