Poonch (The Uttam Hindu): Security forces have busted a terrorist hideout in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. On Saturday, officials said that this hideout was found during a joint search operation by police and army in the forests of Surankot. No person has been arrested during this. Security forces have recovered three hand grenades, 14 bullets of AK assault rifle, 6 pistol bullets and other material from the hideout.

Jammu and Kashmir Police has confiscated property acquired from illegal earnings related to terrorist activities. According to police, the action was taken under a case registered at Khanyar police station. A police spokesperson said that Srinagar Police has confiscated a residential property under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, which is estimated to be worth about Rs 1.5 crore. The property is located in Shalbagh in Khanyar area and is registered in the name of Mohammad Yusuf Shah, while it is currently in the possession of his son Masood Hussain Shah.

The Jammu and Kashmir State Investigation Agency (SIA) has filed a chargesheet against 11 accused including Pakistan-based Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Mohammad Yusuf Shah alias Syed Salahuddin in a narco-terrorism case. The SIA, Jammu had registered the case in 2022. The investigation revealed a well-organised network that facilitated drug trafficking and raising funds for terror activities. Apart from Salahuddin, the chargesheet also names Hizbul terrorist Basharat Ahmad Bhat of Khan Sahib area of ​​Budgam. Salahuddin is currently active from across the border, while Bhat operates from Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
