Dwarka Expressway & UER-II Inaugurated by PM Modi: Travel Time from Singhu Border to Delhi Airport Slashed to 40 Minutes

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gifted highway projects worth Rs 11,000 crore in Delhi. On Sunday, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Delhi section of UER-2 (Urban Extension Road-2) and Dwarka Expressway from Rohini, Delhi. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and many other dignitaries were also present on this occasion. Now the journey from Singhu Border to Delhi Airport will be completed in 40 minutes through Dwarka Expressway. Earlier this journey used to take 2 hours. Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the goal is to make Delhi jam and pollution free. The government is working in this direction.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday reached the venue after holding a roadshow at Bakkarwala Village Toll Plaza area. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the event. After this, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated highway projects. The Delhi section of Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension Road-2 (UER-2) have been developed as part of the government's comprehensive plan to decongest the capital. It aims to bring about a vast improvement in connectivity, reduction in travel time and reduction in traffic in Delhi and its surrounding areas. Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta praised Prime Minister Modi's leadership ability and the decisions taken in the interest of the country. Welcoming Prime Minister Modi, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that not just in slogans and cheers, you (PM Modi) are the development man of this country on the ground of reality. She said, "You are a leader who, despite the cheap politics of the opposition, never let the people of Delhi become a victim of petty politics."
Rekha Gupta further said, “Based on the administrative experience of the last 5 months as the Chief Minister of Delhi, I can say that you are such a visionary leader whose thinking includes every citizen of India, whose policies have equal participation of every state, and in whose resolve every person feels safe.”
