Prime Minister’s Office address to change, government to operate from ‘Seva Teerth’; PM Modi to inaugurate high-tech office

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): From Friday, the address of the Prime Minister’s Office will officially change in the national capital. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new high-tech office complex named Seva Teerth, equipped with smart grid and modern facilities.
The Prime Minister will unveil the naming plaque of the Seva Teerth complex at around 1:30 pm. After this, he will formally inaugurate Seva Teerth along with Kartavya Bhavan-1 and Kartavya Bhavan-2. In the evening, at around 6 pm, he will also address a public gathering at the Seva Teerth premises.
The Prime Minister’s Office will function from Seva Teerth. In addition, the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat will also be housed here, bringing together offices that were earlier operating from different locations.
Kartavya Bhavan-1 and Kartavya Bhavan-2 will accommodate several key ministries, including the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Law and Justice, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, and Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
For decades, many major government offices and ministries functioned from fragmented and outdated infrastructure spread across the Central Vista area. This dispersion led to operational inefficiencies, coordination challenges, rising maintenance costs, and unsuitable working conditions. With the consolidation of administrative functions into a modern, future-ready complex, these long-standing issues are expected to be resolved.
Both building complexes feature digitally integrated offices, organised public interface areas, and centralised reception facilities. These arrangements aim to enhance coordination, efficiency, smooth functioning, better citizen engagement, and employee well-being. Designed as per 4-star GRIHA standards, the complexes include renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, waste management solutions, and high-performance building structures.
These initiatives are expected to improve operational efficiency and significantly reduce environmental impact. The complexes are also equipped with comprehensive security systems, including smart access control, surveillance networks, and advanced emergency response infrastructure, ensuring a safe and accessible environment for officials and visitors.
