Rahul Gandhi Slams Election Commission: 'We Will Take Action Against You' Over Voter List Allegations

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has targeted the Election Commission on the issue of voter list. The Congress MP alleged that the Election Commission is not working like the Election Commission of India. Rahul Gandhi called the Election Commission's comments 'nonsense'. He warned that the Election Commission officials cannot escape from this because "we will come to them".

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi made this statement in response to a question on Tejashwi Yadav's 'election boycott' remark. Speaking to the media outside Parliament in Delhi on the SIR issue, he said, "This is a very serious matter. The Election Commission is not working like the Election Commission of India. They have made some statement, it is completely nonsense. The truth is that the Election Commission is not doing its job." Rahul Gandhi gave the example of Karnataka on the issue of voter list. He said that the Election Commission allowed rigging in one seat of Karnataka, for which not 90 percent, but 100 percent evidence is solid. Just now after inspecting a constituency, the rigging was discovered.

He said, "I am sure the same drama is going on in every constituency. Thousands of new voters were created, but their age is 50 years, 45 years or 60 years." Rahul Gandhi said, "Deleting names of voters, adding new voters and new voters above 18 years of age, we have traced them. I want to tell the Election Commission if you think you will get away with this, if your officers think they will get away with this, then you are wrong. You will not be able to get away with this. We will come to you." However, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi did not comment on 'election boycott'. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has hinted at 'election boycott' in protest against the SIR process. Congress is an ally of RJD in Bihar.
