New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The weather across the country is witnessing rapid changes. While North India continues to reel under intense heat, heavy rainfall has caused flood-like situations in several regions. The monsoon has now entered Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue multiple alerts for rainfall and thunderstorms across various states.

A red alert has been sounded in parts of Gujarat, especially Saurashtra and Kutch, where heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning and thunder is expected. Monsoon winds have entered the state via the Konkan coast, significantly increasing rain activity. Meanwhile, 15 other states including Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and several northeastern states have been placed under an orange alert.

Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued in 13 states including Delhi-NCR, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and parts of the northeast. Light rain and cloudy skies are expected in these areas. Delhi may witness light showers with wind speeds up to 50–60 km/h, along with thunder and lightning in the coming days.
