Rohtak (The Uttam Hindu): Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is serving a sentence for the rape of two sadhvis and the murder of a journalist, has been granted parole for another 40 days. He is currently lodged in Rohtak's Sunaria District Jail. During the parole period, he will reside at the Dera Sacha Sauda campus in Sirsa, Haryana.

Ram Rahim, serving sentence in the rape-murder case, released from jail again, granted 40-day parole; will remain at his Sirsa Dera: According to sources, Ram Rahim's parole was approved on Wednesday evening, after which the jail administration started the process of release. During the parole, he will have to strictly follow the conditions set by the administration. He will not be able to participate in any public program or event outside the Dera premises and his activities will be constantly monitored by the administration.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim has been incarcerated in Sunaria jail since 2017. He was sentenced to life imprisonment for raping two sadhvis. He was also convicted in the murder case of journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati. Since these cases, he has been granted parole and furlough several times, which has occasionally sparked political and social controversy.

This time, the 40-day parole granted to Ram Rahim is part of this series. He was previously allowed out of jail during the election season, though the administration has always clarified that parole is granted only in accordance with the rules and legal procedures. After the parole period expires, Ram Rahim will have to surrender again at Sunaria Jail.
