Historic Moment: Lord Jagannath Gets Guard of Honor for First Time in Ahmedabad, Amit Shah Attends Mangala Aarti

Ahmedabad (The Uttam Hindu): The 148th Rath Yatra of Lord Shri Jagannath has started in Ahmedabad with traditional gaiety and religious devotion. On this special occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with his family participated in the Mangala Aarti organized at the Sri Jagannath Temple and offered prayers after visiting Mahaprabhu. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel formally started the Rath Yatra and following the traditional Pahind method, started the journey by placing a gold broom in front of the Lord's chariot. This method is considered a symbol of service and dedication.
After the Mangala Aarti, Home Minister Amit Shah wrote in a post on the social media platform 'X', "On the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra, attending the Mangala Aarti of Shri Jagannath Temple, Ahmedabad is a divine and supernatural experience in itself. I attended the Mangala Aarti of Mahaprabhu and had darshan and puja. May Mahaprabhu keep his blessings on everyone."
Before this, Amit Shah wished the countrymen on the occasion of Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra. Shah wrote on 'X', "Jai Jagannath! Heartiest greetings to everyone on the holy festival of Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra. Shri Jagannath ji's Rath Yatra is a unique confluence of faith and belief, which tells that moving forward while preserving devotion, culture and heritage together is in our core. I pray to Mahaprabhu Jagannath, Veer Balabhadra and Mata Subhadra for everyone's welfare and progress."
Lord Jagannath was given a 'Guard of Honor' in Ahmedabad like Puri in Odisha. The tradition of giving guard of honor is happening for the first time in Ahmedabad. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel performed the Pahind ritual of worship of Lord Jagannath and sent off the Lord's chariot from the temple.
At present, Nagar Nath Jagannath has set out on a city tour. Devotees visit the Lord's door throughout the year, but today is the day when the Lord visits the devotee's house. This journey of about 16 kilometers will be completed by 6 pm. There is a huge crowd of devotees in the temple.
