Ravi Yoga: Worship Sun God to attain happiness and prosperity, avoid these tasks during Bhadra

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu):bIn Sanatan Dharma, the worship of Sun God holds special importance. The Sun is considered the significator of the soul, the king of the nine planets, and a visible deity. Regular worship of Sun God brings good health, confidence, courage, respect, and prosperity. It also helps remove planetary defects from the horoscope and supports career growth. Worship performed during Ravi Yoga is believed to be especially fruitful. Offering water, chanting mantras, reciting Aditya Hridaya Stotra, or chanting “Om Ghrini Suryaya Namah” during this auspicious yoga is said to quickly bestow blessings, peace, prosperity, and higher status.
According to Drik Panchang, on January 8, the Shashthi Tithi will remain until 7:05 AM, after which Saptami Tithi will begin. Those planning any auspicious activity should avoid Rahu Kaal. No important or favorable work should be done during this period. Rahu Kaal will be from 1:46 PM to 3:04 PM. The Moon will transit in Leo throughout the day. Sunrise will be at 7:15 AM and sunset at 5:41 PM.
Ravi Yoga is considered a highly auspicious planetary combination in astrology. This yoga is formed due to a specific alignment of the Sun and Moon. Ravi Yoga occurs when the Moon is placed in the fourth, sixth, ninth, or tenth position from the Sun. Specifically, when the Sun is in Ashwini Nakshatra and the Moon is in Rohini (fourth), Ardra (sixth), Ashlesha (ninth), or Magha (tenth) Nakshatra, Ravi Yoga is formed. Tasks performed during Ravi Yoga are believed to yield quick and positive results. Worshipping Sun God during this time brings happiness, prosperity, respect, and success, along with higher position and recognition.
This period is considered highly favorable for many auspicious activities. Bringing a new vehicle home, finalizing a property deal, booking a car, inaugurating a shop, performing a housewarming ceremony, or starting a new business or venture during Ravi Yoga is considered beneficial and brings long-term gains.
On the other hand, Bhadra Kaal is regarded as an inauspicious period. Important activities such as marriage, mundan, naming ceremonies, or new investments should be avoided during Bhadra, as tasks started in this time may face obstacles. During Ravi Yoga, devotees should offer water to Sun God using a copper vessel mixed with vermilion, jaggery, and rice grains. Chanting “Om Ghrini Suryaya Namah” along with lighting incense and a lamp is considered highly auspicious.
