Renuka Chowdhury reacts To reporter's question with a simple "Frown!" - watch video

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The issue of Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury bringing a dog into the Parliament premises during the winter session is gaining momentum. There is talk of a privilege motion being brought against her for this act. When Renuka Chowdhury was questioned about this potential action, she responded in a very strange manner. She barked in front of reporters and issued an open challenge to the BJP.
On Tuesday, when the media questioned her about the speculation of a breach of privilege motion, Renuka Chowdhary sarcastically said, "Brown... what else can I say?" She further stated that she was not afraid of any motion. The Congress MP said, "When the motion comes, we'll see. What's the problem? If they want to bring the motion, let them. When it comes, I'll give a befitting reply. It doesn't matter to me."
Renuka Chowdhary cited former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in her defense. She argued, "Former Prime Minister Vajpayee also brought a bullock cart to Parliament. Dogs have their own significance in Hinduism. I have not violated any rules."

The controversy began on Monday, the first day of Parliament's winter session. Renuka Chowdhary arrived at the Parliament complex with a dog. When reporters asked her about the situation, she sarcastically remarked, "It's docile and doesn't bite. The ones who do are the people sitting inside Parliament and running the government." She clarified that she was taking the stray dog to a veterinarian for treatment.
Renuka Chowdhary's behavior and statements have drawn a sharp reaction from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BJP spokesperson and MP Sambit Patra alleged that Congress leaders have hurt the decorum and dignity of Parliament. Sambit Patra said, "The statements of Rahul Gandhi and Renuka Chowdhary have insulted Parliament. These two 'R's should remember that there is also an 'R' for the 'responsibility' of MPs."
Patra said that Congress has stooped so low in desperation that it did not even spare its own fellow MPs in Parliament. He said that there may be disagreements within parties, but we are not enemies or thirsty for each other's blood. (Video credit: PTI)
