Big reshuffle in Gujarat politics — 27 new ministers may join cabinet today

Gandhinagar (The Uttam Hindu): The new cabinet of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel's government in Gujarat is scheduled to be formed at 11 am today. Following a meeting at the Chief Minister's residence on Thursday, the entire cabinet, except the Chief Minister, resigned from their posts. It is believed that the BJP has taken this major step in preparation for the upcoming 2027 assembly elections.
Gujarat cabinet expansion today; 27 leaders including Rivaba Jadeja and Jitu Vaghani may be inducted into the cabinet. : The swearing-in ceremony of the cabinet expansion will be held at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, where Governor Acharya Devvrat will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers. The simultaneous resignation of the entire cabinet has created a stir in the state politics. However, according to sources, some ministers from the previous government may be included again in the new team.
This time, around 27 new members are expected to join Bhupendra Patel's cabinet. It is being reported that the party may give special importance to the Saurashtra region, as the Aam Aadmi Party has recently gained influence in this region. Leaders like Jayesh Radadiya and Jitu Vaghani are also being discussed as ministers.
According to sources, the faces who will be included in the cabinet include Jayesh Radadiya, Shankar Chaudhary, Uday Kangar, Amit Thackeray, Amit Popatlal Shah, Hira Solanki, Mahesh Kaswala, Kaushik Vekaria, Rivaba Jadeja, Arjun Modhwadia.
Meanwhile, it is believed that Aniruddha Dave from Mandvi-Kutch, Sandeep Desai from Choryasi, Sangita Patil from Limbayat, and Pankaj Desai from Nadiad may join Gujarat's new cabinet. Additionally, Alpesh Thakor, Hardik Patel, and CJ Chavda, who joined the BJP from the Congress, could also be appointed ministers.
