RK Singh faces BJPs ire: Former union minister suspended for disciplinary breach

Patna (The Uttam Hindu): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken major disciplinary action against senior leader and former Union Minister RK Singh. The party has suspended him with immediate effect. According to reports, the process of expelling him from the party has also been initiated, which is being done to maintain organizational discipline.

According to party sources, the process of expelling RK Singh will be completed in three stages, as per party rules. In the first stage, he has been suspended, after which a show-cause notice will be issued. Final expulsion action will be taken after receiving a response to the notice. This move is surprising because just a few days ago, reports emerged that the BJP would not take any action against RK Singh, despite his numerous serious allegations against the Nitish Kumar government. However, with this action, the party has made it clear that indiscipline will not be tolerated.

RK Singh had been a constant attacker against his own party and the NDA leadership for quite some time. He not only openly supported Prashant Kishore's allegations against powerful NDA leaders, but also believed that some state BJP leaders had conspired to defeat him in the last Lok Sabha elections. He believed that these leaders had secretly supported independent candidate Pawan Singh and caused his defeat. Furthermore, Singh had publicly advocated for the abolition of prohibition in Bihar, which was against the state government's policy. Furthermore, he had stayed away from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public rally in Rohtas on May 30, a move the party took seriously.

A section of BJP leaders believes that whatever political power RK Singh had was due to the BJP organisation, and making statements that deviate from the party line comes under the category of indiscipline.
