Roadways bus overturns on Tonk–Sawai Madhopur highway in Rajasthan, 25 passengers injured

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A major road accident occurred near Taran village on the Tonk–Sawai Madhopur highway in Rajasthan on Tuesday, when a Rajasthan Roadways bus overturned.

According to Sadar police station officer Jaimal Singh, the bus was travelling from Sawai Madhopur to Jaipur when the incident took place. Around 20–25 passengers sustained injuries in the accident and were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Officials confirmed that the condition of some of the injured is reported to be serious. Local administration and police teams reached the spot soon after the mishap and carried out rescue operations. Efforts are being made to provide all necessary medical assistance to the injured.

The accident caused disruption in traffic movement on the highway for some time before normalcy was restored.
