Saiyami Kher Heads to Nashik for Intense Prep Ahead of Ironman 70.3 Sweden Challenge

Nashik (The Uttam Hindu): Actress-athlete Saiyami Kher has retreated from Mumbai’s hectic shooting schedule to her hometown Nashik, where she’s embarked on an intensive training regime ahead of her next Ironman 70.3 European Championship in Sweden. This marks her second consecutive year taking on the half-Ironman distance, following her historic 2024 victory. With under two months remaining until the May 2025 race, Saiyami is capitalizing on Nashik’s varied terrain and tranquil setting to elevate her preparation.
“I’ve been shooting a new South film and covering the IPL on Cricbuzz, so I needed a break—not to rest but to go all-in on my Ironman prep,” Saiyami explained. “The European course’s elevation and layout are a different beast. Swimming in the lake, cycling on those hills, running long—it’s shown me how much harder I need to train. I’ve been logging over four hours a day, and it’s intense but so worth it.”
Officials at her training camp report that Saiyami’s regimen includes daily open-water swims, hill repeats on the Sahyadri ridges and long-distance brick workouts. With her disciplined approach and hometown advantage, she aims to improve on last year’s performance and build toward a future full-Ironman challenge.
