Sangh Chief's Remark Sparks Debate: 'One God Belief Not Hinduism'

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu)- On the completion of 100 years (Centenary Year) of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said that the significance of the Sangh lies in India becoming the world leader. India has to contribute to the world and now that time has come.
In a lecture series organised in Delhi, Bhagwat said that there is no need to change anyone. Today I will discuss about the Sangh with you. India exists because the Sangh exists. For us, the country is paramount. That is why we say Bharat Mata Ki Jai. The Sangh should be known on the basis of facts and not perception. There are many discussions about the Sangh. It came to my notice that there is less information, the information that is available is less authentic. Therefore, one should give true and correct information about the Sangh from our side. Whatever discussion takes place on the Sangh should not be based on perception but on facts.
The Sangh chief said, 'Those who have a tradition of walking together are Hindus. When the Sangh was formed, it was decided that the entire Hindi society has to be united. Along with this, the question arises that why the rest were left out. Leaders, policies, parties, all these are helpful but the main task is the transformation of society. (For the progress of the nation) There are some qualities which have to be developed.' Today, even after completing 100 years, why is it talking about new horizons? If we have to answer this in one sentence, then it is - at the end of the Sangh prayer, we say every day: 'Bharat Mata ki Jai.' It is our country, that country should be hailed, that country should get a leading place in the world.
Bhagwat told an incident of Golwalkar and said that once someone asked Guruji that there are no Muslims or Christians in our village, what is the use of a branch here? So Guruji said that forget about the village, even if there were no Muslims and Christians in the whole world, if the Hindu society was in this state, then there was a need for a branch of the Sangh.
