Second Black Box of Air India Flight 171 Retrieved; Cockpit Voice Recorder Found

Ahmedabad (The Uttam Hindu): The case of the crash of Air India flight AI-171 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on June 12 is being investigated. Officials confirmed that the second black box has been recovered. The cockpit voice recorder (CVR) has been found from the wreckage of the plane crash. This will help in identifying the possible cause behind this accident.
Ahmedabad accident: Air India plane's second black box found, some important revelations expected from cockpit voice recorder: A total of 297 people, including 241 people on board the plane, were killed in this accident. Earlier, it was reported that the flight data recorder (FDR) of the plane has been found. Officials have confirmed the recovery of the black box to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Principal Secretary PK Mishra. An official release said that Mishra chaired a high-level review meeting here and discussed relief, rescue and investigation efforts with senior officials of the Central and state governments, Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) and Airports Authority of India.
It also said that the AAIB has started a detailed investigation. The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is conducting a parallel investigation under international protocols as the plane was manufactured in the US. It said, 'Officials informed Dr Mishra that the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) have been located and secured.
