New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A sensational case of a major security lapse has come to light in the country's Supreme Court. On Monday (October 6, 2025), during the hearing of a case in the Supreme Court, a 60-year-old lawyer tried to throw a shoe at the Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai. The shoe fell before reaching the bench, due to which the CJI was not harmed. During this incident, the attacking lawyer was shouting slogans like 'Hindustan will not tolerate insult to Sanatan Dharma'. The security personnel present in the court immediately caught him.

This shocking incident occurred while Chief Justice BR Gavai was hearing a case on his bench. A 60-year-old lawyer, Rakesh Kishore, rose from his seat, shouted slogans, and threw a shoe at the bench. Before anyone could react, security personnel deployed in the courtroom swung into action, immediately apprehending the offending lawyer and detaining him. Police are now questioning him about his actions.

Despite this unexpected turn of events, Chief Justice B.R. Gavai remained unfazed. He continued his work with a nonchalant air and continued hearing the case. Reacting to the incident, he said, "I don't care about such things." Other lawyers present at the scene also reported that the Chief Justice was unfazed by the incident and continued with his work as usual.

Police said an entry card issued to lawyers and clerks was also recovered from the accused lawyer, Rakesh Kishore. This incident has raised serious questions about the security arrangements at the Supreme Court complex.
