Meerut (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has come to light despite heightened security arrangements in the district due to the Prime Minister’s visit and the presence of Yogi Adityanath. Police were conducting strict checks on suspicious persons and vehicles, yet unidentified criminals managed to dump the body of a young woman near Mawana police station and escape unnoticed.

Initial investigation suggests that the woman was brutally murdered, and her face was burned with acid in an apparent attempt to hide her identity. According to preliminary findings by the forensic team, the murder is believed to have taken place around 24 hours before the body was discovered. The woman, estimated to be about 27 years old, was wearing black leggings and a T-shirt and had a bracelet on her right hand. Police suspect that the killing occurred at another location and the body was later disposed of near the police post.

The body was found on the service road of the flyover close to Mawana Khurd police outpost on the Meerut–Pauri highway. A function was being held at a nearby farmhouse on Saturday evening, and many vehicles were parked in the area. Passersby noticed the body lying near a boundary wall and informed the police. Officers, along with female personnel, reached the spot and carried out a detailed inspection.

Police have intensified efforts to identify the victim. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, but severe facial burns have made identification difficult. Details of missing women from police stations across the district are being collected so that the victim’s identity can be established and the accused can be traced.
