Shocking crime : 'Delivery boy' rapes Pune woman in her flat, clicks selfie, leaves chilling text ‘I'll be back’

Pune (The Uttam Hindu) : On Wednesday night, a 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped in a posh residential community in Kondhwa, Pune. According to police sources, the accused entered the survivor's apartment at approximately 7:30 p.m. and committed the crime while posing as a delivery executive. The police claim that the survivor was by herself at home because her brother had left for work. The accused identified himself as a courier delivery boy and informed her that she needed to sign a letter that had arrived from her bank.

When she responded that she didn't have a pen, he claimed he didn't either. As the woman went to her bedroom to get a pen, the accused seized the opportunity, locked the main door from inside and entered the house. He then allegedly raped the woman. The police also informed that as per the preliminary reports the accused sprayed a substance on her, which caused her to lose consciousness before she could react. When she regained consciousness, she saw a threatening message on her phone which read, "I will come again.” The accused had also taken a selfie on her phone.

As soon as the police received information about the incident, a forensic team reached the scene and investigations began. DCP Shinde said, "Currently, 10 teams from Pune Police are working on tracing the accused." Additionally, the forensic team has completed the task of collecting samples from the crime scene, based on which the investigation will proceed further. An FIR has been registered under sections 64 and 77 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police are reviewing CCTV footage from the society and nearby areas as part of their investigation.
