New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The impact of Cyclone Arnab continues to affect weather conditions across several parts of India, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Heavy snowfall has been reported in the Himalayan regions of North India, including the pilgrimage destinations of Kedarnath and Badrinath in Uttarakhand. The snowfall has intensified cold conditions across the mountainous areas.

In Odisha, heavy to very heavy rainfall has triggered flooding and landslides in several districts. Three people, including a nine-month-old child, have reportedly died in the incidents. Rescue and relief operations have been intensified, with authorities shifting people from waterlogged and vulnerable areas to safer locations. Meanwhile, several parts of Rajasthan have witnessed heavy rain and hailstorms, bringing down temperatures and increasing concerns over possible crop damage.

The IMD has also warned of another possible weather disturbance as a low-pressure system over the Andaman Sea develops into a depression. Meteorologists have indicated that it could intensify into a cyclonic storm and approach the Andhra Pradesh coast between November 2 and 3. Coastal areas may experience heavy rainfall and strong winds, prompting authorities to alert fishermen and residents of vulnerable settlements.
