Srinagar (The Uttam Hindu): Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Counter-Intelligence Wing carried out multiple raids across the Kashmir Valley on Tuesday in connection with a terrorism-related case and the online glorification of terrorism. Officials said that Counter-Intelligence Kashmir conducted simultaneous search operations at several locations as part of an ongoing investigation into terror-linked activities. The case is related to the online promotion of terrorist ideology and recruitment efforts.

The raids were conducted at 12 locations across seven districts, including Pulwama, Budgam, Kulgam, Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag and Kupwara. Officials stated that these searches are being carried out after obtaining proper search warrants in connection with FIR No. 03/2023 registered at Police Station Counter-Intelligence Kashmir under Sections 153-A and 505 of the IPC and Sections 13 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The case focuses on terror-related offences, particularly the online glorification and propaganda of terrorist ideology aimed at radicalising people and recruiting them into terrorist organisations.

Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security agencies are continuing sustained anti-terror operations against terrorists, their overground workers (OGWs) and supporters. The strategy is not limited to targeting armed militants alone but is focused on dismantling the entire support network that sustains terrorism in the region.

Security agencies are also keeping a close watch on drug smugglers, narcotics peddlers, hawala networks and other illegal financial activities. These unlawful operations are believed to be a major source of funding for terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Anti-terror operations are being carried out regularly in the hinterland to curb such activities.

Along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border, the Army and Border Security Force (BSF) remain on high alert to prevent infiltration, cross-border movement, drug smuggling and drone-related activities originating from across the border.
