New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport has resumed normal operations after a technical glitch in the Air Traffic Control system caused widespread disruptions, affecting over 800 flights. The issue, triggered by a malfunction in the Automatic Message Switching System, forced controllers to switch to manual procedures, leading to significant delays.

The disruption highlights concerns about the country's air traffic management infrastructure, with warnings previously raised about performance degradation and system lags at major airports like Delhi and Mumbai.

Airlines are working to restore schedules, and passengers are advised to stay in touch with their carriers for updates. The airport handles around 1,500 aircraft movements daily, and such disruptions can have far-reaching impacts on flight operations.
