Tejashwi Yadav announces pension, ₹50 lakh insurance, and ₹5 lakh aid for panchayat representatives

Patna (The Uttam Hindu): Assembly election campaign is going on in full swing in Bihar. All the political parties are busy wooing the voters through rallies and public meetings. In this sequence, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav made several big announcements in a press conference on Sunday. Tejashwi Yadav said that if RJD forms the government, a pension scheme will be implemented for the three-tier Panchayat representatives. Along with this, he also announced an insurance cover of Rs 50 lakh for them and an increase in the margin money per quintal along with giving honorarium to PDS distributors.
The RJD leader said that working-class people like potters, blacksmiths, and carpenters would receive an interest-free financial assistance of five lakh rupees. This amount would be given in a lump sum for five years. He also promised to remove the 58-year age limit for compassionate appointments in government service.
Meanwhile, NDA leaders have decided to support an independent candidate in the Madhaura assembly constituency in Saran district, as there is no alliance candidate. LJP (RV) candidate Seema Singh's candidacy for this seat has been rejected due to technical reasons.
